Hours: Monday:Friday (Day Shift / 40hrs)
Shift: Flexible shifts available: 6am:3pm 7am:4pm 8am:5pm
Holidays: 22 days + Bank Holidays
HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Engineer Opportunity
A well:established fleet maintenance business with over 50 years' industry experience, multiple sites nationwide, and circa 300 employees is looking to recruit an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Engineer for its Skelmersdale depot.
The Role : HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Engineer
You will be responsible for maintaining a mixed fleet of approximately 60 HGVs (DAF, IVECO, Mercedes, Scania and Volvo) and 150 trailers, working as part of an established workshop team.
: Carrying out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance
: Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
: Completing MOT preparation and presentation (HGV and trailer)
: Working to DVSA standards and company compliance procedures
: Carrying out defect rectification and safety inspections
: Completing job cards and maintenance records accurately
: Supporting breakdown repairs where required
: Ensuring workshop housekeeping and H and S standards are maintained
: Working collaboratively with other technicians to meet fleet availability targets
: Time split between HGV units and trailers
: Participation in a voluntary on:call rota
What We're Looking For : HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Engineer
: Proven experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Engineer
: NVQ Level 3 / City and Guilds in HGV, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or equivalent (or time:served)
: Strong diagnostic and fault:finding ability
: Experience working on trailers (desirable but not essential)
: Good understanding of DVSA and MOT standards
