Overview
Teaching Assistant position at Trimdon Hill School, Durham, for 40 pupils aged 4 to 11 years. The school is part of Options Autism and focuses on providing exceptional education and support for pupils with a variety of needs, including Autism. This is a permanent, term-time role located in Durham, North East (TS29 6EY) with 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
* Support pupils with their learning and development, helping to ensure they get the best possible educational experience.
* Prepare learning materials and run classroom activities with hands-on involvement and some supervision.
* Support pupils with their emotional and physical needs, helping them to develop as individuals and engage with the world.
* Assist with pupils who have complex Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs, benefiting from the support of experienced teams.
* Adapt to a variety of classroom roles, indoors and outdoors, depending on individual needs; lead activities or supervise pupils as required.
Qualifications
* GCSE C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
* Some experience with SEN and working within a school
* Adaptable, caring, and able to work as part of a dedicated team
