Different sectors, different personalities, one shared ambition: to be best in class. We’re now at a pivotal point in our growth. With 400 employees today and plans to double our headcount in 2026, we’re creating our first-ever Head of Human Resources role. This is a top-level, hands-on leadership position for a true Builder-Leader, someone who enjoys the clarity and governance of a corporate environment but knows how to create it without drowning people in bureaucracy. You’ll be joining with a largely blank sheet of paper and a clear mandate: create a Great Place to Work, at scale, across a diverse and growing group of businesses. This isn’t about maintaining what already exists. It’s about designing the future of our people strategy. Your Role: Setting the Standard for the Entire Collection As Head of HR, you’ll define the people framework for the whole ecosystem, ensuring that while each business retains its own DNA, the employee experience is consistently excellent. You’ll operate as a trusted partner to senior leadership, balancing strategy, culture, compliance, and commercial reality. Key Responsibilities & Strategic Mandate: 1. Culture & Leadership The Heart Culture Architect: Design, embed and evolve a culture where values are lived daily, not laminated on walls. Great Place to Work Builder: Create the foundations, systems and behaviours that genuinely make people want to stay, grow and do their best work. DEI Champion: Lead an inclusive agenda that goes beyond compliance and actively strengthens performance and decision-making. Executive Partnering: Coach and challenge senior leaders across the Collection, helping them build high-performing, engaged teams. 2. Operational Excellence The Engine End-to-End HR Ownership: Oversee the full HR lifecycle across the Collection, recruitment, reward, performance, development and employee relations. Scalable Design: Build modern, agile HR processes and systems that can grow with us as we acquire and expand. People Analytics: Use data to tell a story, providing insight on workforce trends, engagement, productivity and risk to inform leadership decisions. Pragmatic Delivery: Keep things efficient, human and proportionate, sophisticated where needed, simple where possible. 3. Compliance & Risk The Anchor Employment Law Expert: Provide confident leadership around UK Employment Law, TUPE, ACAS and employee relations, particularly within healthcare-related businesses. Risk & Governance: Ensure best-practice compliance across employment law, data protection, health & safety and HR policy governance. Trusted Authority: Be the calm, credible voice in complex or sensitive people matters. Are You the Right Fit? The Must-Haves (The Serious Stuff) Experience: 10 years in HR, including 5 years in a senior leadership role, essential. Qualifications: CIPD accredited (Associate or Chartered), essential. Education: Degree in HR, Psychology, Business or similar, preferred. Technical Strength: Strong, practical expertise in UK Employment Law, TUPE and the Equality Act, essential. Scale Exposure: Experience supporting multi-site or multi-entity organisations, essential. The Soft-Haves (What Really Makes You Shine) Commercially Minded: You understand that great HR enables growth, it doesn’t slow it down. Agile & Grounded: Equally comfortable in boardrooms and on the frontline. Builder Mentality: You enjoy creating structure from scratch and improving things that already exist. Authentic Leadership: Approachable, credible, curious and values-led. Why You’ll Love It Here We don’t believe senior corporate roles have to feel stiff or soulless. We want this to be a place where high standards and humanity coexist. What’s on offer: Market-leading salary DOE. Career trajectory: Clear path toward HR Director as the Collection grows. Work–Life Harmony: 25 days holiday. Your birthday off. Mental health support via private medical cover. Wellbeing & Tech: Private healthcare. Cycle to Work scheme. Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme (and we expect you to help us make this even better). Continuous Development: Full support toward Chartered Fellow (FCIPD) status. Final Word: This role isn’t for someone looking to maintain an HR function. It’s for someone who wants to build one that people actually believe in. If you’re excited by scale, complexity, autonomy, and the chance to genuinely shape a Great Place to Work, we’d love to hear from you
