Cygnet Group is recruiting experienced Mental Health Support Workers to deliver outstanding care at Cygnet Hospital Wolverhampton. The role is full‑time (42 hours per week, 07:45 – 08:00, days, nights and weekends) at our state‑of‑the‑art PICU & Acute hospital for men in the West Midlands. The service comprises a 12‑bed PICU ward and a 17‑bed Acute ward, supported by a multidisciplinary team and serving adults requiring rapid access to mental health services, including those who may need an intensive care environment. We focus on reducing length of stay and moving patients safely to the most appropriate and least restrictive environment, with pathways that allow step‑downs, and referrals come from acute services and prison services.
Responsibilities
* Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all the people in our care.
* Provide guidance & encouragement through physical and emotional support.
* Learn about an individual’s specific needs and provide assistance in the most appropriate way.
* Assist with medical and welfare needs and report on them as required.
* Safeguard all patients and visitors and maintain a safe, clean environment.
* Use innovative methods to improve patient care.
Qualifications
* Experience: ≥ 6 months in an acute/PICU mental health setting or ≥ 2 years in mental health.
* Ability to work 42 hours per week, including days, nights and weekends.
* Excellent communication, teamwork and sensitivity to individuals’ needs.
* Passion for empowering and supporting service user independence.

Person Specification
* Experienced Mental Health Support Worker with over 6 months in an acute/PICU setting or over 2 years in mental health.
* Demonstrated ability to support patients in a high‑acuity environment.
* Strong safeguarding and clinical skills.
