The Role:
University College Birmingham is currently looking for a candidate that has experience as a skilled front of house operator, someone that can link the kitchen with the restaurant in our brand new Chelmsley Wood Culinary School. You will work with our students to motivate, inspire and support them to help them to gain hands-on experience and learn all the skills that will introduce them to the hospitality industry.
Our state-of-the-art brand-new training restaurant will allow you to enhance and teach your knowledge of skills and expertise and enable you to teach learners the most recent and current practices replicated in the industry. This fantastic facility in the heart of Chelmsley Wood makes for impressionable learning opportunities for our FE learners.
Essential requirements for this role include:
Experience of working within a high level, busy, professional hospitality setting
To be able to support the Chef Lecturer with food ordering, stock rotation and food hygiene due diligence recording.
To be able to manage the day-to-day operations of the culinary school, inclusive of providing a high standard of service to customers.
To be able to operate a till, manage cash flow and an experience of the financial management of a busy establishment.
An ability to train, motivate and empathise with students of all ages and abilities.
Strong levels of organisational and administrative skills in a busy commercial setting.
A strong awareness of food safety regulations and best hygiene practice within a busy working restaurant.So, if you are looking to contribute to the next generation of hospitality professionals, this is the perfect role for you. Please note you will be expected to work on some weekends.
