SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: £88 – £105 per day

GSL Education is looking for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a supportive and inclusive school in Scarborough. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs.
SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, Speech, Language and Communication Needs and Moderate Learning Difficulties.
* Assist the class teacher in creating a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
* Support pupils in developing both academic and social skills.
* Implement strategies to manage behaviour in line with the school’s ethos.
* Help pupils access learning by adapting resources and activities where needed.
As the ideal Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN (in school or alternative settings).
* Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience when working with challenging behaviours.
* Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
* An understanding or experience using PECs or Makaton.
* Hold a valid DBS registered on the update service (or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education).
