Quantity Surveyor
Location: Hampton, Middlesex
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with your line manager to support the commercial administration, reporting, and performance of a single large project or multiple smaller schemes.
What you’ll be doing:
* Contribute to creating and maintaining a safe and inclusive working environment.
* Prepare subcontract documentation, including negotiating terms and conditions, prices, and programme requirements.
* Manage subcontract work packages, including interim assessments and change management.
* Produce and issue all required commercial notices to both the client and subcontractors in line with the contract.
* Manage change proactively and in accordance with the form of contract, including producing and submitting Compensation Event Quotations.
* Prepare, submit, and agree monthly applications to the client in line with contractual requirements.
* Work collaboratively with operational and engineering colleagues to ensure site records are accurate and maintained to the required standard.
* Produce detailed monthly reports and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
* Develop and maintain a detailed cost plan, including expenditure tracking, subcontractor liabilities, and Oracle-based cost analysis.
* Review and interpret expenditure reports generated by internal cost systems.
* Attend weekly progress and risk reduction meetings with clients and subcontractors.
* Apply the principles of “Doing the right thing” to maximise value and support commercial performance.
* Provide contractual expertise to estimating and bid teams when required.
About you:
* Professional qualification such as MCIOB or MRICS. Incorporated membership or working towards full membership is desirable.
* Relevant degree and/or experience within a commercial or construction environment.
* Experience working on large projects or multiple smaller schemes.
* CSCS card (appropriate to role).
* Good understanding of standard forms of contract.
* Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and contractual/cost management systems (e.g., CEMAR, Oracle).
* Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Strong understanding of construction processes.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
