On behalf of my client, a global Aerospace and Defence manufacturer organisation based in Greater Manchester, I am pleased to present the opportunity for a Production Engineer on a permanent basis.
This role is primarily responsible for providing technical support for products within the Operations function.

You will be responsible for:
* Supporting the technical engineering input within Operations (Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain).
* Supporting the technical justification for change control within an Operations environment.
* Supporting the supply chain function with technical queries.
* Supporting the Engineering (NPI) function with change control feedback.
* Presenting change control technical rational into the Engineering Design Authority.
* Supporting the implementation of fresh, cost effective, best practice technological methods which enhances operational performance and customer satisfaction.
You:
* Are an experienced engineer from a similar industry, able to demonstrate multi-functional engineering competence.
* Have a solid understanding of Lean Principles and process variation (Green Belt desirable).
* Have a solid understanding of Core Manufacturing tools and are able to implement - OEE, Value Stream Mapping, Continuous improvement methods i.e. Kaizen.
* Have a solid understanding of APQP so to assist members of NPI Team.
* Are qualified to a minimum of HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering with previous experience in electronic manufacturing (Aerospace industry experience is highly desirable).
* Have the ability to problem solve a wide range of technical issues (Mechanical, Electrical & Process).
* Have Microsoft Office experience.
* Are proactive using methods so to prevent failures within Customer/Production - PFMEA or Ishikawa.
