Join us in our role of Senior Asset Building Surveyor and support the delivery of our asset programme to maintain high-quality homes with long-term investment plans for refurbishment and remediation properties. In this role, you will lead schemes from governance to start on site, bringing your expertise in building construction and defects to guide your team of Surveyors and collaborate with stakeholders to find the best solutions.

Typical day as a Senior Asset Building Surveyor
* Deliver housing refurbishment and remediation projects, ensuring governance approvals, budget control, and objectives related to time, cost, revenue, value, quality, and safety are met. Lead and develop your team of Surveyors.
* Review the portfolio and develop investment plans for each site and estate, liaising with colleagues and stakeholders to plan programmes and budgets.
* Support future survey requirements, ensuring quality assurance and accurate data collection.
* Conduct financial appraisals of schemes to achieve optimal outcomes.
* Build positive relationships with contractors to influence successful project delivery.

You have
* Experience in project work (public or private sector) as a Building/Projects Surveyor, including property condition surveys, remediation specifications, and working with external partners. Experience managing surveying teams and working in construction.
* Proven ability to manage work demands within budget, motivate teams, and analyze information for decision-making.
* MRICS or MCIOB accreditation, or a relevant Building Surveying degree, with solid experience in building surveying and investment planning.
* Knowledge of building construction, design, CDM requirements, codes of practice, regulations, and safety standards.
* Attention to detail, strong influencing skills, and innovative thinking to improve efficiency.

You will join John and Vik in our Building Surveying and Asset Delivery team, passionate about delivering large-scale projects and retrofit programmes. We work nationally on challenging projects and value teamwork and problem-solving. We are looking for someone to help drive our next work phase.
Job details
* Full time, 37.5 hpw, Monday to Friday. Flexibility for personal commitments is supported.
* Hybrid working based at our office at One Strawberry Lane, Newcastle, with remote work and travel across the UK.
* A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work, with mileage paid.
