Sales Ledger Assistant
Location: Bristol
Salary: £25,000 - £26,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home after training)
Flexitime: Start between 8:00am-10:00am and finish between 4:00pm-6:00pm
About You
We are looking for someone who:
1. Has strong attention to detail and organisational skills
2. Is confident working with numbers and financial data
3. Has good communication skills and enjoys working as part of a team
4. Is proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
5. Demonstrates a proactive attitude and willingness to learn
6. Has previous administration, finance, accounts, or customer service experience (desirable but not essential)
7. Is studying AAT or interested in pursuing a finance qualification (desirable)
This role would be particularly suited to a graduate, AAT student, or someone with administration experience looking to begin or develop a career in finance.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Sales Ledger Assistant to join our growing finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate customer accounts, supporting invoicing processes, allocating payments, and assisting with credit control activities.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a busy finance function while receiving full training and support. The role also offers exposure to process improvement projects and the opportunity to contribute ideas that help drive efficiencies across the department.
Key Responsibilities
8. Raising and processing customer invoices accurately and efficiently
9. Posting and allocating customer receipts
10. Maintaining customer account records and resolving account queries
11. Supporting credit control activities, including chasing outstanding payments (approximately 10% of the role)
12. Assisting with customer and client system administration
13. Supporting sales ledger reconciliations
14. Working collaboratively with the wider finance team to ensure accurate financial records
15. Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies within the finance function
16. Assisting with ad hoc finance projects as required
