Role Overview
As an Assistant Swimming Teacher, your key responsibilities include supporting the delivery of the Swim School and School Swimming programmes, which are vital for community engagement and the financial sustainability of our centres. You will assist in planning and delivering engaging lessons following our schemes of work and guidance from national governing bodies, including supporting pupils at lower stages.
This position is developmental, supporting your progression towards Swim England Level 1 and 2 Teaching Qualifications and NRASTC rescue qualification. As you develop, you will deliver crash courses with support and cover existing classes.
Additional Responsibilities
* Support routine checks, housekeeping, and customer safety during lessons.
* Interact warmly and professionally with customers, building trust and representing LeisureSK positively.
* Deliver high-quality teaching, maintaining standards in accordance with Swim School procedures.
* Organise, plan, execute, and evaluate lessons using the Swim England Learn to Swim Pathway.
* Keep accurate records of attendance and assessments.
* Ensure all activities are fun and promote a positive image of the Swim School.
* Support other swimming-related activities and pursue professional development.
* Identify pupils for advanced pathways.
* Maintain health and safety standards, understanding your responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and Pool Safety Operating Procedures.
