As the Sustainability and Net Zero Officer, your primary responsibility will be integrating sustainability and climate resilience into the Combined Authority’s Asset Management function. Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
* Leadership: Lead the integration of sustainability initiatives across asset management.
* Implementation: Turn climate strategies into practical, measurable programs.
* Risk Management: Identify and manage environmental and climate risks associated with assets.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all assets meet local, regional, and national sustainability targets.
* Collaboration: Work with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to align sustainability efforts.
* Monitoring: Track and report progress on sustainability initiatives and climate goals.
Job Requirements
To be considered for this position, you should have:
* Experience: A strong background in implementing sustainability or climate initiatives in the built environment or public sector.
* Funding Knowledge: Understanding of funding opportunities such as the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme.
* Local Authority Experience: Experience working with local or combined authorities.
* Qualifications: A relevant degree or professional accreditation (e.g., IEMA, CEnv, engineering) is preferred.
* Analytical Skills: Advanced analytical capabilities and familiarity with frameworks like PAS 2080, BREEAM, and MEES.
