Contract: Initial 9+ month contract. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. During initial training, office attendance will be required 4 days per week.

The Role
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a local authority in Bromley, for a proactive and detail-oriented Business Support Officer to join their central support function. This is a vital administrative role supporting teams within the Compliance & Strategy service. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, managing internal communications, and helping ensure smooth and efficient departmental operations.
You will work closely with service managers and colleagues across departments, handling correspondence, supporting case management processes, and updating key systems such as SharePoint and Microsoft Excel. A high level of professionalism, discretion, and organisational ability is required to succeed in this role.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day correspondence including emails, letters, and phone calls, escalating key issues and priorities to managers
* Ensure strict confidentiality in all matters relating to the work of the team
* Accurately record and update data using SharePoint, Excel, and internal line-of-business systems
* Ensure case files are kept up to date with relevant notes and documentation for effective case management
* Provide administrative support across the Compliance & Strategy service as required
* Assist with general team operations and undertake any other duties in line with the role's level

You will have experience providing business or administrative support in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment. You'll be a confident communicator who can handle sensitive enquiries with professionalism and care.

* Proven ability to follow procedures and maintain organised support systems
* Excellent IT skills across a range of platforms including Microsoft Office
* High attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
* Experience handling a variety of customer enquiries, including sensitive issues, with a professional telephone manner
