Bournville Manufacturing is the home of the UK’s most iconic confectionary brand, Cadbury’s. We are now looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with a Mechanical focus to join us, at the heart of our Manufacturing operations within different areas of the plant.
The key role of the Manufacturing Engineer is to work with line operators and technicians by building their capability to eliminate losses through systematic approaches and equipment/process knowledge. Driving improvement in reliability and stability of line operations and processes.
How you will contribute
* Solving technical problems of the highest scope, complexity, and ambiguity
* Looking for innovation opportunities between several teams with a willingness to experiment and to boldly confront problems of large complexity and scope
* Identifying problems in existing products or processes and proposing solutions
* Working with the Engineering Manager to determine the need for training and talent development, hiring, and interviewing engineering employees and support
* Taking responsibility for implementation by leading and coaching the line teams
* Driving process reliability and stability by solving chronic problems on the line
* Understanding process variability on line and defining systems to eliminate them
* Defining critical process parameters and centre-lines; tracking and ensuring adherence
* Providing technical confirmation to any request or project proposal that affects the process or equipment
* Gathering and analyzing process data and issues
* Implementing and maintaining systems to collect, collate, and analyze data on key process parameters
* Identifying and prioritizing process capability issues for performance or cost
* Using FI systems to build the capability of operators and technicians
* Developing and delivering training and skills improvements
* Ensuring a high level of technical competence within the operating team
What you will bring
A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career, along with the following experience and knowledge:
* Proven track record within manufacturing in the consumer goods or food industry or wider manufacturing industry
* The ability to work on multiple projects
* Meeting deadlines to ensure timely completion of project documents
* Excellent numeracy skills with experience in providing project documentation such as hydraulic schematics, design calculations, test procedures, etc.
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Degree or equivalent in Engineering
