About the Department The TPE Department plays a significant role in the academic life of Charterhouse and is one of the School’s most popular GCSE option subjects. The department has a strong reputation for innovative curriculum design, including pioneering courses such as Technology Ethics and Space Ethics, alongside excellent outcomes at IGCSE, A-Level and IB. The department is a friendly, cohesive team of subject specialists who care deeply about the importance of Philosophy, Theology and Ethics in the formation of thoughtful, ethically engaged young people. The Role The successful candidate will: Teach a full timetable in Theology, Philosophy and Ethics across a range of year groups Contribute to the continued development of an ambitious and innovative curriculum Play a full role in the academic, pastoral and co-curricular life of a busy boarding school The Ideal Candidate We are looking for an individual who: Has strong subject knowledge and a passion for TPE Is an excellent classroom practitioner, able to engage pupils of all abilities Enjoys working collaboratively and contributing to the wider life of the School Is committed to pupil wellbeing and high academic standards A recognised teaching qualification is desirable, though applications are welcome from outstanding candidates at an earlier stage in their teaching career.
