We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Product Technologist to join our team.
As Product Technologist this is a key role within the team as you will be expected to be at the forefront of leading innovation projects with the customer whilst representing DCK.
This is a part time (4 days per week) role and is on a 12 month FTC maternity cover.
You are responsible for risk assessing all DCK products in line with global legislative requirements, DCK RSL and any specific host or customer requirements, ensuring that all products are safe and compliant. You are also responsible for providing all required documentation in line with legislation ensuring that this is stored accurately and in a timely manner on WFX.
Responsibilities
* Demonstrate clear knowledge of chemical compliance and legislative requirements.
* Carry out risk assessments on all DCK products, using sound commercial and technical knowledge to appropriately judge risks posed by our products.
* Identify any patterns in supplier testing, highlighting anything of concern to the Senior Compliance Manager.
* Support the Senior Compliance Manager as and when necessary, with information required for our hosts and customers.
* Collaborate with DCK buying teams, ensuring that product changes required to ensure compliance are followed through into production.
* Ensure that all test reports are checked and stored on WFX prior to shipments, working with the Supply Chain Admins to chase any that are missing, escalating any potential risks to shipment to the Senior Compliance Manager.
* Ensure that all labelling, such as fibre compositions, care instructions and toy / warning labels are used appropriately and display correct information in line with legislative requirements.
* Work with approved 3rd party test houses, checking supplier testing as well as DCK due diligence testing.
* Monitor testing results, actioning re-tests and product amendments as necessary.
* Update testing budget with costs as they are received from 3rd party test houses.
* Follow DCK processes, policies and best practices, suggesting improvements or new ways of working where possible.
* Provide input and expert knowledge to new process or efficiency drives within the Supply Chain and Operations team.
