Job Summary

Leading the adoption of hydrogen technologies at scale for decades, Black & Veatch understand the revolutionary capabilities of hydrogen to reduce carbon emissions and pave the way for a greener future. BV is already positioned for and delivering progress today across green hydrogen for power generation and storage, advanced transportation and fuel-cell technology, and as a feedstock for green chemicals, as well as the processing of blue hydrogen with carbon capture technology.

As Senior Project Manager - Process / Hydrogen EMEA, you’ll focus on Advanced Process Solutions engineering and construction projects in EMEA. Our portfolio is predominantly Hydrogen focused, but also includes Sustainable Fuels, Ammonia, and downstream oil & gas and fuels-related facilities, including brownfield modifications and decarbonisation-focused upgrades. You’ll lead all aspects of medium to large projects with multiple clients, managing and leading teams of multi-disciplinary professionals and coordinating the activities of all third‑party companies contributing to the project delivery.

This role is based in our Glasgow city centre office in the United Kingdom. We work a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week in the office and 2 days from home. Some travel to other B&V offices, client offices, project sites etc throughout the region will be required.


Key Responsibilities

* Managing all aspects of sustainable process projects, including risk to cost, schedule, quality.
* Managing FEL 1, 2 and 3 Projects and EPC Phase.
* Working with discipline Engineers and Construction Managers to identify and resolve problems or issues related to design, schedule, materials, change management safety and quality.
* Manage risk which may include fixed price, new technology, non domestic markets or new clients.
* Participate in project and proposal reviews to ensure alignment with client expectations, quality standards, and commercial objectives.
* Lead downstream oil & gas and fuels projects, including refineries, terminals, petrochemical facilities, and associated utilities and offsites, with particular focus on safety, operability, and integration with existing operating assets.
* Manage brownfield and revamp project execution, including constructability, shutdown/turnaround interfaces, and change management.
* Support business development and sales activities, including opportunity identification, proposal development, and participation in client meetings.
* Develop and maintain strong client relationships to secure new and repeat business across hydrogen, sustainable fuels, and downstream oil & gas clients.
* Contribute to commercial strategy, including scope definition, risk assessment, and support to contract negotiations in collaboration with Sales Team and Solution Directors.


Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
* Significant process industry experience in a project management capacity.
* Previous experience with Process Industry Projects in the United Kingdom.
* EPC project management experience.
* Proven background managing and leading teams of multi-disciplinary professionals.
* Experienced in coordinating the activities of all third‑party companies contributing to the project delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

* Prior experience with Hydrogen
* IOSH or NEBOSH
* Project Management Qualification
* Construction Design Management (CDM) Trained/Experience
