Full job description Main Duties and Responsibilities Engineering Change Control Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and update BOM structures in accordance with the company's Engineering Change Management process. Maintain revision control and configuration traceability for all BOM structures. Coordinate BOM updates associated with design changes, cost improvements, supplier changes or product upgrades. Ensure controlled release of BOM revisions to purchasing and production teams. Support audits by providing accurate BOM documentation and revision control. Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with Design Engineers to clarify specifications, component details and assembly structures. Collaborate with Purchasing team to ensure BOM accuracy supports supplier sourcing and procurement activities. Liaise with Production Planning and Manufacturing teams to ensure material structures support production schedules. Support resolution of BOM discrepancies or shortages. Support Quality and After-Sales teams with accurate product structures and spare parts information when required. ERP / Engineering Data Governance Maintain engineering data within the company's ERP/MRP systems, ensuring high standards of accuracy and consistency. Ensure adherence to company part numbering conventions, material master data standards and description structures. Monitor and maintain data integrity of engineering master data. Support integration of engineering data between CAD, PDM/PLM and ERP systems where applicable. Data Accuracy & Continuous Improvement Conduct periodic BOM audits to ensure completeness and accuracy. Identify opportunities to improve component standardisation and reduce part duplication. Support initiatives to improve engineering-to-purchasing data flows and ERP efficiency. Support digitalisation and automation of engineering data / BOM processes. Contribute to improving engineering-to-purchasing workflows Role Requirements Skills, Experience & Attributes Experience working with Engineering Bills of Material (BOMs) in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Experience using ERP or MRP systems (such as Sage, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar). Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, assemblies and component specifications Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy. Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Effective communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams. Experience working within vehicle, machinery, aerospace, or complex mechanical manufacturing environments. Experience supporting engineering change control processes (ECN/ECO). Familiarity with 3D CAD and PDM/PLM systems. Engineering or technical qualification such as HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar discipline. Personal Attributes Highly detail-oriented with a structured and methodical approach to data management. Strong analytical and problem-solving capability. Process-driven mindset with an interest in continuous improvement. Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments. Comfortable challenging incomplete or inaccurate information to maintain data integrity and configuration control.
