Note: SYMCA follows a structured salary grading system for all roles. The offered salary is at the starting point within the specified grade. Key Responsibilities
* Support SYMCA on delivering policing and reform objectives, including the Police and Crime Plan, and related funding and strategic initiatives (e.g., Transport for City Regions funding, Police and Crime Plan delivery).
* Lead the Policing and Reform Financial Management function; advise the Director – Policing and Reform; provide financial planning, strategic financial advice, and maintain a sound financial management framework.
* Oversee core financial processes and final accounts; directly manage the Policing and Reform finance team; ensure leadership development, professional development, and succession planning.
* Collaborate with the Policing and Reform Directorate and South Yorkshire Police; contribute to the Senior Leadership Team.
* Refer to Police and Crime Plan and related documents to inform financial planning and delivery.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Provide expert financial advice and leadership to incorporate funding changes, capital project models, and national-level changes into financial planning and delivery.
* Drive a high-quality, customer-focused, and efficient Financial Management service aligned with SYMCA’s strategic objectives.
* Directly manage the Policing and Reform finance team and ensure staff receive leadership training, development, and succession planning support to build a resilient team.
* Collaborate with colleagues in the Policing and Reform Directorate and external partners to support delivery of objectives.
