Production Operative
Reporting to: Production Manager
General Description
The Production operative will report to the production manager/team leader or any other designated manager. He/she must therefore work closely with all other team members to deliver the objectives of the company. The position will be predominantly workshop based; however, it is envisaged that the operative will utilise his/her time with best effect to establish and manage the relationships needed to deliver customer satisfaction through controlled production and where applicable successful installations.
General Objectives
The primary objective of the Production Department is to deliver cost effective production for current and future customers whilst also ensuring business compliance in accordance with Group Policies and Procedures.
The Production operative is responsible for:
* Ripping down raw timber ready to sizes as per orders.
* Stock levels of stocked items and raw timber.
* Help machinists to throughput large orders.
* Packing and dispatch or orders
* Preparing paperwork to be in office with all dispatch notes and delivery documentation
* Keeping warehouse tidy at all times
Experience
Essential:
Driving license and available vehicle
A desired standard of math's and English to GCSE standard
Desire to work with timber
Good attention to detail
Desirable:
* Driven individual who works well as part of a team
* Keen and willing to learn
* Knowledge of production equipment
* Knowledge of joinery machinery
Technical Skills
Essential:
Responsible and good timekeeper
Can do attitude
Able to work with a team
Numerate and literate to a standard able to deal with internal control documents
Desirable:
Previous experience of wood working
Previous experience of working to tight timescales
Understanding of machinery

Remuneration
This job has been graded at the following level:
Basic Salary - Dependant on experience and knowledge
Annual bonus scheme – available after 6 months service
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From £25,000.00 per year
