Are you an experienced mental health nurse ready to step into a senior leadership role within a specialist CAMHS setting? Our client is a well-regarded independent mental health provider operating a dedicated young people's inpatient unit in Essex.

This is a genuine opportunity to shape ward culture, lead a compassionate clinical team and make a real difference to the lives of young people at a critical point in their care.

ABOUT THE ROLE: As Deputy Ward Manager, you will work alongside the Ward Manager to ensure the delivery of safe, therapeutic and person-centred care across the CAMHS unit. You will take a hands-on senior nursing lead, overseeing clinical standards, managing risk, supporting governance requirements and acting as a role model for the wider team. No two days are the same, this is a role that rewards resilience, clinical confidence and a genuine commitment to young people's mental health.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

* Acting as Senior Nurse / Charge Nurse across the ward, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, families and visitors
* Supporting the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, with a personalised approach to treatment
* Applying and communicating relevant policies, statutory requirements and governance frameworks across the team
* Assessing and managing risk across the immediate and wider ward environment
* Promoting diversity and inclusion, leading by example across the clinical team
* Contributing to the professional development of junior staff through supervision, mentoring and training
* Playing a key role in treatment outcomes, supporting young people to move forward with confidence

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

* Active NMC registration, with all revalidation requirements met
* At least 18 months to two years of post-registration experience, with clear expertise in a defined clinical specialty
* Experience as a trained assessor or supervisor, with clinical supervision experience (formal training desirable)
* A strong commitment to continued professional development and growing leadership capability
* Solid IT and computer skills
* Natural empathy, resilience and a team-focused approach
* CAMHS or young people's mental health experience would be a distinct advantage

WHAT'S ON OFFER

* Competitive salary of £43,014 – £46,314
* Your birthday as an additional day of annual leave
* Enhanced maternity pay
* Contributory pension scheme
* Free on-site parking
* Flexible benefits including gym membership, technology schemes and a healthcare cash plan
* Sponsorship of professional qualifications through an Individual Professional Development panel
* Leadership and management development pathways
* Long service recognition
* Refer-a-friend bonus scheme
* Regular career conversations and genuine progression opportunities
