As SOCOTEC continues to grow, we’re expanding our Environment & Safety Division and are looking for a dedicated Asbestos Analyst to join our team and wear the badge with pride.
We’re seeking a proactive, adaptable, and committed professional who can work confidently both independently and as part of a team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in identifying, monitoring, and analysing asbestos to ensure the safety of buildings and the people who use them. Your expertise will support projects across diverse sectors, including defence, rail, roads, power stations, retail, heritage and service sectors, giving you the chance to make a real impact every day.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out testing, inspection and reporting to the highest standards, ensuring compliance with SOCOTEC quality procedures and Health & Safety guidelines
* Conduct asbestos surveys, air sampling, fibre counting, and four‑stage clearance tests
* Maintain and calibrate equipment, ensuring a clean and safe working environment
* Record and issue accurate analytical reports
* Liaise with clients, project managers, and internal teams to deliver work to agreed timescales
* Identify opportunities to support SOCOTEC’s wider services
Qualifications
* Must hold BOHS P403 and P404 qualifications (or RSPH Level 3 in Asbestos Air Monitoring)
* Industry experience essential with proven track record of conducting a similar role
* Hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good client‑facing skills – confident in liaising with contractors, project managers, and stakeholders
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection/report writing
* Time management and ability to meet project deadlines
