Year 1/2 Teacher (Maternity Cover, 0.44 FTE, Thursdays and Fridays)
Location: Village Primary School near Stroud (represented by Thrive Education Recruitment Ltd)
Start: February half term
About the School
- This lovely village primary is a warm and welcoming Church of England school set in a friendly rural community just outside Stroud. It is the kind of place where everyone knows everyone, where children are encouraged to be their very best, and where the atmosphere feels more like a big family than a school.
- The team is proud of its strong Christian values, its caring approach, and a curriculum that blends excitement, balance and lots of enrichment. Reading sits at the heart of everything, and the children enjoy a fantastic mix of clubs, outdoor learning and community activities.
- With around 130 to 140 pupils, it is small enough for every child to be known as an individual yet busy enough to feel full of life.
The Role
We are looking for a Year 1/2 teacher to join the school for a maternity cover position, working 0.44 FTE on Thursdays and Fridays. You will be part of a job share with a very experienced teacher, and the two of you will work closely together to ensure smooth, happy and consistent days for the children.
Because the school already has an ECT in post, this role is open to experienced teachers only.
If you enjoy bringing learning to life, value consistency for young children, and thrive in a supportive and cheerful environment, you will fit in beautifully.
What the School Offers
- A friendly and close-knit staff team that genuinely looks out for each other.
- A broad and enriching curriculum with gardens, a forest area, outdoor music spaces and lots of opportunities for creative learning.
- Clubs, trips and plenty of exciting extras that help children flourish.
- A strong focus on teacher wellbeing including reduced marking and a commitment to making sure you have everything you need to do your job well.
Who We Are Looking For
- An experienced and enthusiastic KS1 teacher who enjoys making learning fun and meaningful.
- Someone who values stability for young children and enjoys being fully involved with them throughout the school day.
- A teacher who is happy working as part of a job share and who communicates well with colleagues.
- Someone who is comfortable supporting the school’s Christian ethos and its mission to help every child grow in confidence and kindness.
How to Apply
If this sounds like the right fit for you, we would love to hear from you. Please apply today or contact Thrive Education Recruitment Ltd. We are the only agency working with the school on this role. Send us your CV and a short covering letter telling us about your experience, why a job share suits you, and what excites you about working in a small, community-focused village school.
We look forward to helping you take the next step in your teaching journey.
