We are seeking individuals with great attention to detail and a proactive approach to join our Brokerage department. As a Brokerage Clerk, you will complete import entries and circulate documentation according to our SLA to ensure that the Metro Group meets its expanding brokerage obligations. You will also be involved in supporting best practices for both internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational responsibilities:
* Liaise internally and with external clients regarding customs clearance issues.
* Generate import operational files from scratch.
* Create import customs entries for EU and ROW shipments.
* Engage directly with customers on preferential duty rates and processes.
* Support existing clients during transition or development of new business and assist new clients during onboarding.
* Liaise and support clients regarding issuance and distribution of import documentation.
Commercial responsibilities:
* Respond promptly to client inquiries and share information with stakeholders.
* Identify and escalate issues or procedures that could conflict with company policies or HMRC regulations.
* Review and comment on import requests for compliance and legal adherence.
* Follow company training procedures and understand financial obligations related to deferment and invoicing.
* Coordinate with internal import teams to ensure entries meet SOP conditions and provide guidance on import procedures.
* Communicate with external clients to ensure entries comply with SOP conditions and provide guidance as needed.
* Maintain current technical knowledge through ongoing training.
* Respond to email queries on the same day, sending a holding message if further information is needed.
Key Experience & Skills:
* Preferably degree-level education or experience in a similar environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong planning and attention to detail.
* Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or varied hours.
* Logical, structured, proactive, and objective approach.
* Ability to analyze data and produce customs-compliant documentation.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
* Knowledge of CW1 for brokerage is beneficial.

Our Brokerage Department operates full-time in the office on a three-week rolling shift pattern: 7am-3:30pm, 8:30am-5pm, and 10:30am-7pm.
