Your Key Responsibilities:
* Champion high standards of fire safety across all constabulary sites.
* Ensure compliance with fire safety legislation and contribute to a safe working environment.
* Provide expert advice and guidance to staff and management at all levels.
* Conduct fire safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
* Develop and maintain fire safety documentation and training materials.
* Investigate fire safety incidents and implement preventative measures.
* Identify and prioritise fire safety risks across the organisation.
If you have worked in diverse multi hazard environments, have level minimum 3 fire safety qualifications, then this is the perfect opportunity.
You must be customer focused and able provide a professional service including advice, support resources and interventions to enable the successful resolution of a diverse range of fire safety issues within a framework of corporate and legislative requirements. You should also live within easy commute of stations across Suffolk/Norfolk.
It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria:
1. NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management; or Institution of Fire Engineers qualification or equivalent such as NCRQ
2. Experience of providing fire safety advice and guidance in a large organisation(s)
3. Experience of developing fire safety policies, procedures and creation/delivery of training
4. Experience of fire safety audits, risk assessments and inspections
5. Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to retain a clear, professional approach
6. Keyboard skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and specialist software programmes
7. Ability to travel as required, mainly within Norfolk and Suffolk to fulfil requirements of role
8. Able to work in multi hazard environments
It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:
1. Member of the Institute of Fire Prevention Officers, or equivalent professional body
2. Firefighting / enforcement experience
3. Significant fire safety experience
The UK residency requirement for this role is three years. The salary quoted will be pro rata based on number of hours worked.
