Job Title: Light Vehicle Technician Organisation: Humberside Police Location: Melton, East Yorkshire Role Overview Work within a modern, state-of-the-art vehicle maintenance facility supporting Humberside Police operations. Ensure police vehicles, plant, and specialist equipment are maintained to the highest safety and operational standards. Key Responsibilities Inspect, service, maintain, and repair a wide range of light vehicles, plant, and specialist police vehicle equipment. Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Maintain, install, and fit operational and specialist equipment to vehicles as required. Diagnose faults accurately and complete repairs in line with manufacturer and organisational standards. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health and safety regulations. Maintain accurate records of inspections, servicing, and repairs. Work collaboratively with the Workshop Supervisor and wider team to support operational readiness. Skills & Attributes Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills. Ability to work methodically and to high standards of accuracy. Awareness of health and safety procedures within a workshop environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexible and reliable approach to workload demands.
