We are currently recruiting for a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to support an all-boys specialist provision in Great Yarmouth, working with pupils from Year 3 through to Year 11.
This rewarding role is ideal for someone resilient, empathetic, and committed to helping children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.
Pleas note a driving licence is ESSENTIAL for the role.
The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support pupils with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, and additional learning barriers
Build positive and consistent relationships with students
Help promote emotional regulation, engagement, and confidence
Provide classroom, small group, and 1:1 support
Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to create a safe and supportive learning environment
Encourage positive behaviour and act as a strong role model
Every day will be different, requiring patience, adaptability, and a calm approach under pressure.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
A valid UK driving licence
An Enhanced Child-Only DBS on the Update Service
Transferable experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
A positive, proactive, and resilient attitude
Experience from education, youth work, sports coaching, care work, residential support, mentoring, or similar backgrounds is highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
