Personal Assistants (Support Workers) play a vital role within Enable by making a positive difference every day in the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants, but what we guarantee is supporting Kieran to achieve his goals and outcomes, whatever they may be!
Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support. Kieran's team of Personal Assistants will work collaboratively to ensure his safety, wellbeing, and aspirations are met.
The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me
The people we support have many interests, hobbies, dreams, and aspirations similar to ours; they just often don’t get the chance to experience these opportunities. A career with Enable is rewarding and diverse. Personal Assistants at their best can truly bring out the best in the people we support.
Let us introduce you to Kieran:
Kieran loves music, with eclectic tastes from Oasis and Fleetwood Mac to Eminem and Tupac. He is a big Celtic fan but is also open to supporting other teams, enjoying friendly banter. His family is very important to him and remains close.
Before his accident, Kieran was like any teenage boy: he loved going out with friends, meeting girls, having fun, and living life to the fullest. He was a trainee mechanic passionate about cars and was about to start his first car restoration project. He enjoyed live music gigs and fishing trips with friends, though he rarely caught anything.
Kieran has a Traumatic Brain Injury and specific support needs. Your role as a Personal Assistant will include assisting with personal care, moving and handling, meeting health needs, and expanding his social networks and connections.
A typical day might involve supporting Kieran with personal tasks at home, maintaining his house, supporting his physiotherapy, helping him stay connected with his family, and enabling new experiences within his community. His family dogs will also visit, so being a dog lover is a plus.
If you share similar interests and have the commitment, dedication, and desire to support Kieran to enjoy life to the fullest, please apply now!
