The Role
We are seeking to attract the very best, talented, aspirational leaders and teachers to join Wade Deacon High School. Due to the significant successes and achievements and continuing rapid growth of our school, you would be joining us at an exciting time as we lead on national projects and cross-developmental Trust work.
We are looking for a dedicated and innovative Teacher of Design Technology to join Wade Deacon High School on a fixed term contract until 31st August 2026. The DT faculty has an outstanding leadership team and collaborative culture. We pride ourselves on our commitment to ensuring student progress through high-quality teaching and learning provision for all. The successful applicant will share these values and play an active part in the DT curriculum at all levels with the potential opportunity to teach across other creative subjects.
You will be able to enthuse and motivate our students with your passion for the subject and creative teaching, presence and personality. Qualifications
* GCSE Maths and English grade 4-9 (A-C) or equivalent
* Graduate and qualified Teacher Status
* Evidence of appropriate professional development
* Relate to and motivate students
* Possess good behaviour management strategies
* Experience/Knowledge: Experience of successful teaching as evidenced by adding value to student achievements
* Have a thorough working knowledge of the curriculum as it relates to this subject
* Understand how ICT can be used to enhance students’ learning
* Knowledge of examination syllabus requirements in specialist subject(s) at KS4
* Good level of ICT literacy, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and email
Personal Attributes
* Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and to deal politely and tactfully with a wide range of people
