Role: Children's Home Deputy Manager

Salary: Up to £37,440 per annum (plus performance based bonuses)

The role
As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in the day to day running of the home, working closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the highest standards of care and full compliance with all the relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
You'll lead by example, creating a positive stable environment for both young people and staff. You'll support and develop the team, promote a culture of reflection and learning and ensure the home remains a safe, supportive and empowering place for children to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
· Support the Registered Manager in delivering high quality, nurturing care in line with organisational values and regulatory standards
· Lead, motivate and supervise staff, including performance management, appraisals and training
· Promote a positive team culture that prioritises the wellbeing and development of both staff and young people
· Respond flexibly to the needs of the home, including working varied shifts and occasional sleep ins
· Build strong relationships with young people, offering consistent emotional and practical support
· Liaise effectively with families, professionals and external agencies, including attending and chairing meetings
· Contribute to care planning, risk assessment and safeguarding procedures
Qualifications and Requirements:
· A minimum of 3 years' recent experience in children's residential care, including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role
· NVQ Level 3/4 Health & Social Care Children and Young People or equivalent.
· Strong understanding of EBD, safeguarding and child protection practices.
· Excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills.
· Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound, child informed decisions
· Genuine passion for improving the lives of young people.

· Carry heavy provisions or equipment for trips and activities
· Get down to floor level to engage in play or therapeutic activities
· Work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep ins
· Hold a full UK driving licence
