Our client has grown to become one of the largest specialist heritage teams in the country, with expertise spanning planning advice, heritage consultancy, conservation, building surveying, and contemporary architecture. They work with a wide range of clients including public bodies, charities, private companies, developers, and individuals, delivering sensitive restoration and repair schemes as well as bold, modern design within historic contexts.
Projects cover a variety of sectors including cultural, education, ecclesiastical, public, residential, hospitality, and masterplanning, offering an exciting breadth of work and the chance to build on your professional expertise.
Role & Responsibilities
1. Provide expert advice on heritage assets to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
2. Undertake desk-based and archival research on historic buildings and sites
3. Carry out on-site investigations including building recording and photographic surveys
4. Produce detailed, well-written documents such as impact assessments, heritage statements, and conservation plans
5. Manage small-scale projects, prepare fee proposals, and contribute to larger bids.
Required Skills & Experience
6. 3+ years’ experience working as a Heritage Consultant in a commercial environment
7. Master’s degree (or higher) in heritage, architecture, or a related field
8. Strong understanding of UK heritage planning legislation and listed building consent
9. Proven ability to manage workload, deliver accurate documentation, and meet deadlines
10. Professional memberships (IHBC or CIfA) and UK driving licence desirable.
