You will undertake an extensive induction and training programme and receive ongoing development to support you in your role and achieving your career ambitions.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will be part of a dedicated team of procurement professionals responsible for negotiating and managing a variety of business critical commercial contracts and framework agreements for the provision of goods and services to NHSBT. Other responsibilities include:
1. Working closely with suppliers and internal directorate customers to manage the contracting process end to end, to ensure that all interested parties needs are met.
2. Delivering contracts that are robust, free from risk, legally binding and importantly cost efficient and effective.
3. Ensuring that NHSBT can demonstrate to the public through the scrutiny of internal and external audit, that it obtains best value for money on its contracted non-pay expenditure and achieves savings targets.
4. Ensuring compliance with Public Procurement Regulations including the legally mandated OJEU Directives and NHSBT Standing Orders and Financial Instructions.
5. Co-ordinating and planning your own work and the work of staff responsible to you via a work programme.
6. On occasions, you will be required to travel to any NHSBT sites to meet the requirements of the post (notice will be given).

Essential
7. Masters in Procurement/Business/Economics or equivalent knowledge & experience to Masters level.
8. Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD).

9. Experience of purchasing and contracting in a fast-moving environment.
10. Experience in large scale contracting, evidenced by contractual negotiated success.
11. Experience of Public Procurement Regulations including the legally mandated OJEU Directives.
12. Knowledge and understanding of large complex commercial contract negotiations.
13. Experience of working with Information Technology using Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Oracle Financial and Procurement Systems.
14. Experience of using IT systems to produce reports and correspondence which are timely, professional and accurate.
