Speech & Language Therapist
Location: Birmingham / West Midlands
Salary: £28,000 – £45,000 (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full time / Part time / Term time options available
Start: September 2026 (or sooner)
RecruitED People are working in partnership with specialist schools and SEN provisions across the West Midlands who are seeking Speech & Language Therapists to support pupils with communication needs including ASD, SEMH and complex learning needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified therapist or a developing practitioner looking to build experience within an education setting where therapy has direct impact on pupil progress and wellbeing.
The role
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting pupils with speech, language and communication needs through assessment, intervention and collaborative planning with education staff.
Typical responsibilities include:
* Assessing speech, language and communication needs
* Developing individual therapy programmes
* Supporting EHCP outcomes
* Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions
* Working with teaching staff to embed communication strategies
* Writing reports and contributing to reviews
* Supporting staff training around communication needs
Requirements
We welcome applications from:
* Qualified Speech & Language Therapists
* HCPC registered professionals (or working towards)
* Newly qualified therapists
* Experienced SALT assistants looking to progress
* Therapists with SEN or paediatric experience
Essential:
* Degree in Speech & Language Therapy or related field
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Passion for supporting children with additional needs
Desirable:
* Experience in SEN schools
* Autism support experience
* AAC experience
* EHCP knowledge
