An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for a Group Manager to lead our Structures team.
We’re looking for a bold, driven and strategic thinking structures manager who’s excited by challenge, motivated by impact, and ready to shape the future of our infrastructure. This is your chance to lead a high-profile portfolio of bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and complex structures that thousands of people rely on every day.
Your portfolio will include the operation, maintenance, design and management of over 400 structures throughout the city including listed structures such as the Albert Bridge (built 1871), modern iconic structures such as the Clyde Arc (built 2006) and key infrastructure like the Clyde Tunnel and Tidal Weir.

Position Details
Reporting to the Head of Service for Infrastructure Asset Management you will lead a team responsible for the design, management, maintenance and operation of the city’s road related structure. You will provide support and expert advice to other services in support of the council’s wider strategic aims and be a key link between internal and external stakeholders.
Applicants must have good collaboration skills to develop and maintain effective partnership working and should be skilled in improving performance and achieving excellence. You should have experience of delivering a range of engineering projects in constrained urban environments and be skilled in improving performance and achieving excellence.
Applicants should have a degree, or equivalent, in Civil Engineering and a full, current driving licence.
Please note that Chartered Engineer status is essential to ensure the safety and reliability of existing structural assets essential to the city’s transport network and to develop new infrastructure.

Contract Details
Weekly Hours: 35 hours per week
Work Pattern: Monday – Friday, hybrid work pattern.
Annual Salary: £66,940.22 - £77,745.03 on an incremental scale
