Purpose :
The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for delivering a reliable and accurate monthly trial balance, annual financial statements in a timely manner and operational bookkeeping within the company. The role supervises and leads the accounts assistants as well as being hands on with posting journals, analysing reports and accounts. The Senior Accounting Manager leads all IT projects regarding accounting and maintains the accounting systems. The improvement of procedures and policies is a key part of the role.
Responsibilities :
Team Management
* Manage and develop the sales and purchase accounts assistants
* Coach and mentor team members by setting daily and weekly goals
* Review the sales and purchase ledgers monthly for aged debtors and aged creditors with relevant team members
* Weekly monitoring of all sales orders, invoices and credit notes via scorecard review
Accounting functions
* Supervise the monthly and yearly closings for MBIL (UK entity) and other EU entities
* Prepare the financial statements for the UK entity and Group Consolidation
* Conduct the monthly closing checks and controls to guarantee accuracy in the financial statements: sales invoices, purchase invoices, expenses and general accounting
* Manage credit risk and review credit insurance requirements for external clients
* Liaise with the Auditors for annual audit matters for UK and EU entities
* Develop and maintain relationships with banks and credit cards providers
Banking Management
* Review and prepare payments for UK and EU entities
* Banking oversight across UK and EU Banks
* Intercompany loan management & Intercompany payment flow
Tax Management
* Submit international and UK VAT returns
* Submit annual corporation tax returns and preparation of tax ixbrl tagging for the UK return
General Management
* Resolve any escalated issues with customers and suppliers
* Supervise the implementation and maintenance of IT systems
* Seek to constantly improve financial procedures, policies and systems
* Participation in ad-hoc projects
Skills and Experience Required :
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA would be preferred)
* Experience in a financial management role, preferably in the luxury / retail industry
* Proficient in MS Office
* Strong and effective presentation skills and ability to converse with a diverse range of people at all levels
* Ability to prioritise tasks and ensure delivery of results within tight deadlines
* Excellent organisational skills
* High level of accuracy required in all tasks
* High level of finesse and excellence required in delivery of all tasks
* Proficient in Netsuite would be beneficial
