Department of Paediatrics, Oxford Vaccine Group, Churchill Hospital, Oxford About the role This is an exciting opening for an Adult Physician with demonstrable expertise in controlled human infection models an exceptional track record in grant funding and publication to join the Oxford Vaccine Group, one of the world’s leading academic vaccine research teams. The potholder will take on a senior leadership role in experimental medicine, vaccine clinical trials, human challenge models, vaccine development and evaluation, laboratory science at the interface with artificial intelligence, with superb opportunity for career progression in a stimulating academic environment at a thriving University. The appointment will include flexibility to allow the successful candidate to pursue clinical practice in their accredited specialty at consultant level. You will be working in a growing department within the Medical Sciences Division. The Department of Paediatrics is a world leader in child health research and hosts internationally renowned research programmes in drug development, gastroenterology, haematology, HIV, immunology, neuroimaging, neuromuscular diseases and vaccinology. This position is offered full-time on a fixed-term contract initially until 29 July 2030 with the possibility to extend provided further external funding is available.
