Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone who requires support to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Each person we support has different support requirements, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.

Tommy is a young man with complex needs who enjoys the simple things in life and values his family greatly. He is moving from his family home into his first tenancy in Stewarton, which will be a big transition requiring lots of reassurance and support. Tommy needs assistance with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, but he likes to help with some household chores. He communicates using limited words but can express his choices and preferences. Tommy loves going for drives in his car to different places in the community and enjoys watching animals running in fields. As he settles into his new home, maintaining familiar routines and providing consistent support will be essential to help him feel comfortable and secure.
