Manufacturing Engineer - Wellingborough - Up to £39/hr - Outside IR35 - Contract
To be successful in this role, you must have proven, hands-on experience in low to medium volume CNC machining processes, ideally gained in an automotive manufacturing environment. Your ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive change on the production line is equally important.

What You Will Do:
* Define and implement manufacturing processes for new production lines, ensuring efficiency and compliance with engineering standards.
* Identify and introduce innovative technologies to enhance manufacturing operations.
* Oversee the installation and optimization of new equipment, including CNC machines and sub-assembly systems such as pressure testing, washing, and part marking.
* Evaluate and improve existing manufacturing systems, driving cost reductions and continuous improvement through lean principles.
* Create and maintain process documentation, including Process Sheets, FMEA, Process Flow, and APQP.
* Lead problem-solving initiatives using techniques such as PPS and DMAIC to resolve challenges and improve processes.
What You Will Bring:
* HND/Degree in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent) preferred, or a recognized engineering apprenticeship with extensive experience in a production environment.
* Proven expertise in low to medium volume machining processes, ideally within the automotive sector.
* Experience in making improvements to existing production lines.
* Hands-on experience with CNC programming, cutting tools, and manual programming.
* Strong knowledge of sub-assembly processes and familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
