IT Support Technician (Fixed-Term Contract)
Location: Gloucester (Office-Based)
Contract: Fixed-Term Contract (2–3 Months)
Day Rate: £200 per day (Inside IR35)
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
About the Opportunity:
Our client, a well-established organisation, is looking for an IT Support Technician to join their IT team on a short-term fixed-term contract to support a number of business-critical projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT support professional with strong Microsoft administration skills to join a busy and collaborative environment. You'll play a key role in supporting user administration, Microsoft 365 services and project-based IT activities during an important period of change.
The role would suit someone who enjoys working in a structured environment, has excellent attention to detail and can quickly become productive with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Create, modify and remove user accounts within Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
Administer Microsoft 365 user accounts and licensing
Manage Exchange Online mailboxes, shared mailboxes and distribution groups
Maintain mailbox permissions and user access controls
Support the delivery of IT projects and business change initiatives
Ensure IT administration tasks are completed accurately and efficiently
Maintain and update technical documentation
Follow established IT processes and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance
Skills & Experience:
Essential
Previous experience administering Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
Experience managing user accounts, groups and permissions
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration
Experience supporting Exchange Online environments
Familiarity with shared mailboxes, distribution lists and mailbox permissions
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Strong communication and customer service skills
Desirable
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Previous involvement in IT project work
Experience supporting users within a multi-site environment
Understanding of retail or customer-focused business operations
