Building SurveyorPermanent -Full time 37 hours per weekSalary up to £42,839 (Pay Award Pending)Are you an experienced and detail driven Building Surveyor looking for your next challenge?Come and work for a forward-thinking team where your expertise will directly influence the quality and safety of buildings across a diverse portfolio of properties.Wychavon District Council have a rare opportunity for a professional Building Surveyor to join our busy Property and Projects team.You will play a significant role by managing and delivering refurbishment and renovation projects for all council owned properties.You will work closely with the Senior Building Surveyor to improve standards for all built assets making them sustainable, energy efficient, safe, and compliant.You will take the lead with the management of repair and maintenance for all built, mechanical, and electrical assets.You will work to a robust planned preventive works programme undertaking building fabric condition surveys, producing feasibility study reports, drawings, specifications, and providing technical advice as required.About youThe successful candidate will:Prepare design drawings, specifications, pre-tender safety plans and obtain permissions for the extension, alteration and refurbishment works to the Councils operational buildings.Manage capital projects of up to £2m value on behalf of the council and third party organisations.Undertake the preparation of condition surveys and identify and programme planned and cyclical maintenance schedules.To manage building repair works, commission and place orders for repairs and supervise them through to completionTo produce interim and full dilapidation surveysTo prepare and undertake decarbonisation solutions for Council propertiesTo support the Senior Building Surveyor with the delivery of the Capital programmeManage and administer small projects from inception to completionAssist the Senior Building Surveyor with grant and planning applicationsWhat we can offerOur staff are at the heart of what we do and are key to ensuring we deliver our We are WychavonDistrict Council plan (attached) to make a positive difference to our communities, our economy and our environment.
