The Opportunity:
The firm is seeking an experienced and compassionate Family Law Solicitor to join its growing team. The successful candidate will manage a broad and varied family law caseload, advising clients through sensitive and often complex matters including divorce, separation, child arrangements and financial settlements.
The role involves working with a diverse client base, from high-net-worth individuals to working parents, providing pragmatic, strategic and empathetic advice tailored to each client’s circumstances.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing a varied family law caseload independently, including:
o Divorce and separation
o Financial remedy proceedings
o Private children matters
o Cohabitation disputes
o Domestic abuse matters
o Pre- and post-nuptial agreements
* Conducting matters from initial instruction through to conclusion, including advocacy where appropriate
* Providing clear, practical and client-focused legal advice
* Handling matters with discretion, sensitivity and professionalism
* Maintaining regular communication with clients, keeping them informed of progress and options
* Ensuring compliance with SRA regulations, data protection requirements and internal risk management procedures
* Maintaining accurate file management, billing and record-keeping
* Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and referrers
* Participating in marketing initiatives, networking events and community engagement
* Contributing to the development of the family law practice and the firm’s wider strategic objectives
Key Requirements:
* Strong technical knowledge of family law and procedure
* Excellent advocacy, negotiation and drafting skills
* High emotional intelligence and the ability to support clients through challenging circumstances
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
* Proficiency with case management systems and digital working practices
Qualifications & Experience:
* Qualified Solicitor with family law
* Proven experience of managing a full family law caseload independently
