Package: Negotiable competitive basic salary, bonus, car allowance and additional benefits package

Location: Berkshire - Hybrid role 2 days home based 3 days office and field based working

This is a great opportunity to join an established pharmaceutical company as Business Unit Lead. In this role you will lead the Ophthalmology franchise and be responsible for building, developing, and motivating a team to achieve objectives. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in setting and executing the strategic intent to ensure that the successful launch of a new innovative product in Ophthalmology. Reporting to the UK General Manager, this role will work collaboratively with the commercial, regulatory, supply teams and central corporate functions to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

* Demonstrate working at a strategic level to orchestrate and conduct the sales and marketing activities across multiple brands and products. Successfully achieving sales and profitability targets through making the right investment decisions and portfolio mix.
* Lead and collaborate with the Commercial, Medical & Business Development teams to uncover insights and strategies to develop and implement marketing and brand strategies for new and existing products, creating industry leading brands.
* Understanding key marketing performance metrics and tracking tools to provide market research, forecast, competitive analyses, campaign results, and consumer trends to translate results into actionable insights for the sale and marketing team.
* Spearhead the strategic and tactical execution of a clear Ophthalmology Omni-channel strategy.
* Leadership and technical expertise of working in Ophthalmology disease area and can demonstrate external collaboration and engagement plan by identifying, developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with KOLs, scientific experts and other medical scientific stakeholders.
* Demonstrate strong and dynamic leadership, develop and monitor the performance of direct reports and wider organisation through resource planning, coaching, development planning and performance management.
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement.
* Liaise effectively with internal departments and external agencies (medical communications and creative) to comply with Company SOPs and Codes of Practices.
* Maintain compliance to SOPs, processes, practices and guidelines and aiming towards excellence.

The Person / Experience:

* Prior experience in leading high performing pharmaceutical marketing & sales teams is essential
* Marketing experience in Ophthalmology is desirable
* Pharmaceutical marketing experience in launching products and services into the UK Market essential
* Experience of working in a cross-functional / matrix team setting in collaboration with other functional partners desirable
* Prior experience of project management highly desirable
* Team player and collaborative mindset
* Strong and commercial acumen
* Able to prioritise and balance competing priorities.
* Strong work ethic
* Excellent skills in communication, strategy articulation and implementation and organisational effectiveness
* Ability to build, lead, motivate and develop a diverse team.
* Proactive, problem-solving and result oriented approach.
* Self-driven and with a clear focus on high quality and business profit
