Newport Educational Psychology Service (EPS) is seeking a passionate and organised psychology graduate to join our friendly team. This role supports a pilot project across 10 Newport schools, helping to embed inclusive practices and improve communication outcomes for children in the early years. Success in this role means delivering impactful training, modelling best practice, and collaborating with professionals to shape inclusive education across the city.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with EPs, school staff, and multi-agency partners to support the EY Developing Interaction pilot.
* Deliver training and run clinics to promote adult-child interaction strategies in mainstream settings.
* Develop resources and guidance for ALNCos and teachers to identify and support communication needs.
* Monitor and evaluate the pilot's effectiveness, maintaining accurate records.
* Participate in supervision and undertake relevant training to support the role.
* Uphold health and safety, equal opportunities, and data protection policies.
* Maintain confidentiality and contribute to a positive, inclusive working culture.
Qualifications/Skills
* BPS-recognised psychology degree with Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR).
* Minimum Level 1 training in Intensive Interaction.
* At least 18 months' experience using Intensive Interaction in a specialist setting.
* Experience working with non-verbal children with significant social communication needs.
* Strong communication, presentation, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
* Competence in IT and data handling for social research.
* Knowledge of the ALN Code for Wales is desirable.
* Welsh language skills are desirable.
