Location: The Yorkshire Clinic Ophthalmic unit
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative Staff Nurse at the Yorkshire Clinic. The successful candidate will have current NMC registration, with excellent organisational and communication skills. You will be required to deliver care and services to patients and their families using best practice standards based on evidence and research. You will work with the wider multidisciplinary team to drive quality care that meets individual patient needs.
The Yorkshire Clinic provides care and services for elective surgical patients across various specialties including Ophthalmic, Urology, Gynaecology, Colorectal, Orthopaedic, ENT, General Surgery, Cosmetics, and Plastics. This role will predominantly be in the Ophthalmic unit, supporting diagnostics, admitting and discharging patients scheduled for elective Ophthalmic surgery and AMD injections.
The ideal applicant will have experience in surgical/medical nursing in an acute setting and a passion for delivering excellent clinical and customer care. They should demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, supporting the commercial success of the business.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrate outstanding clinical practice at all times and be accountable for own actions.
2. Prioritise workloads and maintain high standards of care.
3. Assess, plan, and evaluate care based on individual patient and family needs.
4. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to maximise service delivery effectiveness.
5. Evaluate team work and support junior staff.
6. Continuously develop clinical skills and care delivery to meet patient expectations.
7. Conduct risk assessments and manage risks to ensure a safe environment for all.
8. Ensure all equipment is in good working order and meets departmental needs.
9. Maintain proficient computing skills.
Qualifications & Skills:
* NMC- Registered General Nurse
* ILS certification
* IV Skills Certificate
* Experience in surgical nursing, preferably ophthalmic, is desirable
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
