Overview
The post holder will lead a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists working to support the respiratory service at Wye Valley NHS Trust. The post holder will be responsible and accountable for the provision, management and continued development of a specialist nursing service for patients with a variety of respiratory conditions. There will be extensive line management responsibilities for the CNSs working throughout the respiratory pathway. Nursing practice will be delivered at an advanced level and will include complex assessment of patients, counselling skills and advanced knowledge of the treatment of COPD, asthma, lung cancer, bronchiectasis, ILD, ventilation, immunotherapy for patients who have bee, wasp and pollen allergies (including up-titration of their programmes) and other more general respiratory conditions. The post holder will lead, oversee and provide an expert advisory role for the countywide Home Oxygen Assessment and Review Service.

Responsibilities
* Lead a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists to support the respiratory service.
* Be responsible and accountable for the provision, management and continued development of a specialist nursing service for patients with respiratory conditions.
* Provide extensive line management for CNSs across the respiratory pathway.
* Deliver advanced nursing practice including complex patient assessments, counselling, and advanced management of conditions such as COPD, asthma, lung cancer, bronchiectasis, ILD, and ventilation support.
* Provide expert advisory support for the countywide Home Oxygen Assessment and Review Service.
* Lead service development and ensure evidence-based practice and high-quality care.
Qualifications and skills
* Experience as a respiratory nurse with demonstrated leadership and service development capabilities.
* Ability to evidence leadership skills, strategic thinking and the ability to drive improvement in a CNS-led service.
* Sub-specialty interests in respiratory care are welcome.
* Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and engage in collaborative service design.
