Sue Ryder is one of the largest charity retailers in the UK with over 400 shops. Every item sold in our shops generates funding for 2.7 million hours of expert medical, practical, bereavement and emotional support each year for people at the end of life or living with grief.
Our shops provide a bright, modern environment that inspires communities to care and encourages reuse, reduce and recycle. As part of the retail team you’ll help inspire communities, drive sales and generate income that supports our care services.
Responsibilities
* Use your retail experience to drive business, push sales and achieve targets.
* Lead a team to deliver great customer service to donors and customers.
* Work with the local community to generate sufficient donated stock to drive sales.
* Recruit, train and retain a volunteer team, who look to you and the shop manager for guidance.
* Set high standards of merchandising and housekeeping, ensuring health and safety is a priority.
* Manage effective stock processes to keep the shop well‑merchandised with fresh, seasonal stock.
* Act as a brand ambassador for Sue Ryder, supporting in‑store campaigns and national fundraising initiatives.
* Help with the EPOS operation and effective stock management.
Qualifications & Skills
Valued experience in retail with a commercial awareness to deliver sales.
Positive attitude, good judgement and the ability to engage with people.
Proven team leadership skills and experience leading a large volunteer team.
Good understanding of financial and IT administration.
