Our Group Security Operations Centre (GSOC) is looking for an operator to join the team. If you have great attention to detail, a professional telephone manner and basic administrative skills then we would love to hear from you!
Who we are:
The GSOC is an in-house security operations centre that operates in real time and is manned around the clock, 365 days a year. The GSOC team is divided into two areas. Reactive Operations, which are charged with monitoring and responding to alarms from security systems (such as CCTV, intruder alarms, personal attack alarms and security fog) installed in branches, head office buildings and distribution centres across the Travis Perkins Business.
Technical Support carries out remote preventative and reactive maintenance of these
security systems and their associated networks. In total, The GSOC consists of 31
colleagues, headed up by a Monitoring Station Manager and supported by an Assistant
Manager, Supervisors, Operators and Technicians.
What will you do? Security Operator
As a Security Operator you will act as the primary point of contact for our sites for all out of
hours, queries and security needs.
Some of the accountabilities for the role;
Provide exceptional customer service and front line support to branch managers and third parties by remotely monitoring CCTV and Intruder alarms, ensuring incidents are managed and reported in a timely manner.
Liaise with third parties such as contractual keyholders, police and group security investigators; recording all alarm and CCTV investigations by completing our internal documentation, ensuring we maintain accurate records.
You will also support our branches with resolving equipment issues, identifying faults and escalating issues where necessary to our technical team for further investigation.

- Able to concentrate throughout a day-shift or night-shift

- Honest, responsible, reliable and observant
It is not essential for you to have previous experience in the security industry is not required, but excellent customer service, clear and effective communication skills, and experience with using word processors and spreadsheets is desirable.
