We are seeking an experienced to support one of our major Defence projects based in Hampshire. This role will lead the successful implementation, integration, and delivery of PMO and Project Controls services, ensuring best in class performance across a strategically important commission.
Due to the nature of this Defence project, candidates must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC). Existing SC clearance is highly desirable.
You’ll be responsible for:
1. Lead and manage PMO and Project Controls performance across assigned commissions, ensuring frameworks and strategies are effectively implemented.
2. Direct and coordinate clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams on all PMO and Project Controls matters.
3. Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and act as a strategic partner to support successful delivery.
4. Provide expert guidance in cost, schedule, change, risk, assumptions, and reporting processes to meet project objectives.
5. Develop, maintain, and govern the project baseline (scope, time, cost, risk) and oversee all performance, change, and contingency controls.
6. Lead structured governance forums and facilitate periodic reporting cycles for accurate and consistent performance management.
7. Contribute to quantitative analysis activities for cost and schedule, ensuring robust data-driven decision-making.
8. Manage, mentor, and support PMO and Project Controls team members, enabling their technical and career development.
9. Oversee the integration of Project Controls with PMO and Planning disciplines and ensure alignment with Mace Control Centre standards.
10. Support resource planning and recruitment for the HUB PMO & Project Controls Director and champion carbon-conscious delivery aligned to net-zero ambitions.
You’ll need to have:
11. Extensive experience delivering PMO and Project Controls services on complex construction or infrastructure projects ideally within the Defence or similar regulated sectors.
12. Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise, with strong commercial and financial acumen.
13. Demonstrable experience leading teams and managing relationships with senior stakeholders.
14. Strong understanding of project lifecycles, programme delivery, and the successful delivery phase of major projects and programmes.
15. Comprehensive working knowledge of systems and tools such as MS Office, Power BI, Aconex, Primavera P6, and RiskHive.
16. Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE, or equivalent, or evidence of strong professional and personal development.
17. Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information to non technical audiences.
18. Awareness of how carbon, sustainability, and net zero considerations shape modern project delivery.
