Job Summary
The Catering staff ensure that all food provided complies with Food Safety Regulations and meals are appetising and attractively served. The post holder will be part of the wider team, providing an integrated and flexible service, and may undertake duties within other areas of the Facilities Department if the service needs demand it.
Main duties of the job
* Prepare food orders ready to order from supplier
* Maintain stock control ensuring regular stock checks and rotation is carried out
* Unload, check and sign for incoming goods against official paperwork; process and file standard order forms and advice notes
* Deliver, issue and collect orders, food and supplies to/from wards and departments
* Deal with enquiries/requests both internally and externally
* Pack and check food orders for ward
* Maintain and keep up to date records related to duties and stock
* Ensure the delivery area is kept clean and tidy at all times
* Concentration is required when operating lifting machinery and when checking goods orders
* Understand and promote the Mission, Values and Behaviours of the Trust

Details: Band 2, Part-time, Permanent. Salary: £24,465 a year pro rota. Location: St Georges Hospital, Stafford, ST16 3SR.

Person Specification
Essential
* Willing to complete in-house training for the role
* Basic food hygiene certificate
* Basic HACCP certificate
Desirable
* Training towards a relevant qualification (e.g., diploma level NVQ)
Experience
* Essential: Demonstrable experience carrying out duties to the required standard
* Desirable: NHS experience; computer literacy; experience in food preparation and cooking; manual handling; valid driving licence
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
* Problem solving appropriate to role level
* Ability to allocate work
* Basic knowledge of chemicals and cleaning products
