Newcastle College is seeking enthusiastic Dyslexia Support Tutors to join our passionate team supporting students with additional learning needs and disabilities, including young people and adults.
The main responsibilities include delivering specialist dyslexia support sessions to students, ranging from 1:1 to small group support, and administering dyslexia screening and exam access arrangement assessments, including timely applications of EAAs to meet JCQ deadlines.
This role requires a strong background in dyslexia and exam access arrangements, with a proven track record in the SEND sector.
It is preferable to have a Level 7 Dyslexia Professional / EEA qualification. However, applicants willing to work toward an AMBDA or APC are also welcome. The salary ranges from NCL Support grade L-M, depending on qualifications (Grade L: £29,000 - £30,000; Grade M: £31,000 - £32,000 for a full-time position).
The candidate must have English and maths qualifications at Level 2 or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe.
Essential skills include the ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines, strong oral and written communication skills, and good IT skills. The hours are flexible, potentially including evenings and weekends based on demand.
